Aubergine
Aubergines grow best in warm, sunny and sheltered locations with well-drained soil. We’ve been growing organic aubergines under the structures at our Spanish operation near Almeria for a number of years.
Aubergines grow on vines that are several feet in height. With a deep purple, taught glossy skin, they are as visually impressive as they are delicious.
The soft meaty aubergine has a light, earthy taste and is a perfect carrier for a variety of flavours. Incredibly versatile they can be prepared through a number of cooking methods and techniques.
Aubergines are a source of antioxidants and fibre, and some studies have suggested they may help manage cholesterol levels.
